Arthur Szyk considered his work to be “Weapons of War.” He was sent to the United States in 1939 from London in order to help sway American opinion against the Nazis. The forward was written by American novelist Maxwell Struthers Burt. Published by the Heritage Press, an imprint of George Macy Companies, printing classics previously published by the Limited Edition Press. This work has a slipcase that matches the endpapers and is inscribed to Hugo R. Johnstone, American  businessman and sportsman, with Johnstone’s signature at the back “Hugo R. Johnstone/Coronado/1946”. All the works are intact and vivid, printed on heavy weight paper with the plates engraved by the Knapp Engraving Company and printed by the Aldus Printers.
