The Portuguese passenger & mail  ships LIMA and CARVALHO ARAÚJO were the liners used on the Lisbon to Madeira and Azores services by the old Empresa Insulana de Navegação for more than forty years until replaced by FUNCHAL (1961) and ANGRA DO HEROÍSMO (1966)
