Nice antique copper engraved Map of the Assyrian Empire, in Middle East, by Johan Mathias HAAS (1684-1742) and HOMANN HRS. 

The map, centered on Arabia, extends from Lybia to North India.

Johann Baptist Homann was the most prolific map publisher of the 18th Century. He founded his company in 1702. In 1705, he became the Geograph of the Emperor Charles VI. In the same year, he was also Member of the Prussian Academy of Sciences in Berlin. After his death, the fabrics take the name of Homann Hrs. 

Johann Matthias Haas was a professor of mathematics at Wittenberg.
