G 10 Glass Phenolic is a high-pressure fiberglass laminate. It was originally manufactured for printed circuit boards because its high strength and chemical resistance, low density and moisture absorption, and strong electrical insulation properties allowed it to maintain its properties under humid conditions. 

G 10 Phenolic comes in a variety of colors and is also ideal for knife and firearm handles because it can be textured for grip - it can also be polished, sanded or bead blasted, making it highly versatile in handcrafting applications. 

HAZARDS: G 10 Glass phenolic is made by stacking layers of glass cloth, soaking them in an epoxy resin, and applying heat until the resin cures. As such, machining this material creates small fiberglass particles which can be damaging to the respiratory system if inhaled and may contribute to the development of lung cancer.  When cutting or grinding this material, the use of proper respirators in a well ventilated environment is advised.
