Our addiNovel knitting needles are equipped with the popular red rope, which is not only highly flexible, but also shows all important information about the respective needle: In addition to the rope length, the needle size is also printed. Should an uncertainty nevertheless occur, the needle can be measured with the normal needle gauge of addi. To do this, insert the tip of the addiNovel into the corresponding holes of the needle size. If the needle slides straight through but slightly, the corresponding size has been found and can be read from the needle gauge.

The following applies to all addi needles: The diagonal of the cross section is decisive for the needle size specification. Sounds complicated? But it is quite simple: If we were to cut through the addiNovel, we would have a square in front of us. The needle size corresponds to the diagonal from one corner to the opposite corner. So the addiNovel with 3,5mm needle size have a diagonal of 3,5mm. Our round addi knitting needle tips, e.g. from the sock miracle, the olive wood and bamboo needles, are also measured by diameter. Hot, we would cut them through, the diameter of the circle would make the measurement.

Since the circumference of a circle at the same diameter is larger than that of a square, the addiNovel should always be chosen in the next higher needle size. For example, if the instructions say that a 3.0mm needle should be used, we recommend using a 3.5mm addiNovel. This will be especially appreciated by those who often have to use very small needle sizes due to a very loose knitting pattern.
