Xbox Clock Capacitor

Your clock capacitor is a ticking time bomb!

The original Xbox utilized a single capacitor to save your time/date settings to the system. Microsoft upgraded this capacitor for v1.6 motherboard revisions but v1.0-v1.5 motherboards were installed with a faulty capacitor located at C7G10 in the bottom left corner. This is a cheap, unbranded capacitor which in some cases doesn't have the f/v markings on them.

This is a well known problem among the repair community. Over time, if not already, this capacitor WILL begin to leak its electrolytic fluids onto your neighboring components. Any shift in the consoles angle and the fluid will travel in that direction corroding EVERYTHING in its path until the capacitor is removed, electrolytic fluid cleaned or causing damage that cannot be repaired. If you have not changed your Original Xbox clock capacitor I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you do this to ensure longevity of your device.

This capacitor matches OEM specs

Note:
- These capacitors are compatible across all versions.
- v1.0-1.5 CAN be used without this capacitor but system cannot save time causing the set clock menu to open every time you power on.
- v1.6 CANNOT be used without this capacitor but it's not typically a problem with this motherboard as Microsoft upgraded the cap for this version.

Note dried capacitor fluid should first be neutralized with vinegar. This will create a chemical reaction which will produce a small amount of heat, a faint audible sizzle and light bubbling at the source of the fluid. Clean area with a high content isopropyl alcohol or PCB cleaner when the reaction ceases.

Controller Capacitor Kit (S Model)

Replaces every radial electrolytic capacitor for the S model controller.

Disk Drive Capacitor Kits

Replaces every radial electrolytic capacitor for the listed disk drives.

NOTE: All messages asking "does the drive work?" are deleted. This is a capacitor kit, not a disk drive!

Disk Drive Square Belt
Square belts are a vital part in any disk drive and as they age they can loose their ability to properly open and close your drive door. If you have a sticky/stuck drive now's the perfect time to replace your belt.

Note these drives are coming up on 20yrs of age and a new belt alone may not fix your problem. Grease applied during manufacturing has likely all dried up and dust loves to stick to it causing jams. A good cleaning and new lithium grease may be required to ultimately repair your disk drive and considering its age, highly recommend.

Power Supply Front Vertical PCB Mezzanine Connector

Change this capacitor with ease in the future with these mezzanine connectors. Additional height DOES NOT interfere with system closure.

Compatible PSU:
Delta DPSN-96AP (110v)

Power Supply Fuses

These fuses are the same brand as the OEM fuses, same blow type and match A/V ratings

Labled F1 on the power board and located behind the power cord jack

To test the fuse in your power supply you will need to probe it in continuity mode. Ideally this would be done after removing the fuse from the circuit. If you don't get an audible beep from your meter then your fuse has blown and needs to be replaced.

I have tested mine in and out of circuit with identical results for both good and blown fuse.

Check your power supply before purchase to verify if you need an axial or radial fuse.

Tactile Switches

Replacements for faulty switches on the front panel board and controller board.

NOTE: Boards in photos are NOT included. They are for display purposes ONLY.

Controller Port Backlight Mod Kit

Backlighting your controller ports is a unique way to make your Xbox stand out. You don't have to have a hard or soft modded Xbox or add any additional wires to accomplish this mod.

Simply remove your controller ports sheilding and solder your +/- LED leads to the red and black wires within your controller port.

Resistors can be soldered on either leg. Go with what works best for you.

Kit includes:

3mm LED x4
150 or 200 ohm resistor x4

Note LEDs with a higher forward voltage come with a larger resistance
