Replica 24th Foot (Zulu War) Regimental Colours Desk Top Flag

24th foot regimental colours desk top flag

This desk top flag is ideal for your den or office where space is limited.

The 24th foot regimental colours were carried by both 1st and 2nd Battalions of Royal Warwickshire Regiment in the Anglo Zulu war of 1879

This Regimental Colour replaced the large Colour carried by the 24th in the Sikh War of 1848.  It features the union flag in top left corner, . The flag is printed on a nylon silk fabric with gold tassels edging.

Battle honour on regimental colours

The top of the pole had the Royal crest instead of the pike point. These dimensions and pole top were authorised in 1858 along with the order that no battle honour should be placed above the crown.  The Colour is of the regimental facing colour, green. In 1881 the new white facings meant that the  South Wales Borderers were supposed to have the flag of St George as their Regimental Colour but the green Colour remained in use until the 1930s.
