These prints were commissioned to celebrate a 8 part documentary series that was being produced in 2009 & 2010. The producer (Dixon Christie) went bankrupt and the series is as of yet unfinished. These prints are being sold to recover some of the $ invested by the Associate Producer (my Father in Law Bill Dickson) who, was the main financial and driving force behind the series "PARATROOPERS - THE CANADIAN STORY" (he is a retired Canadian Army paratrooper who spent 37 years in the Canadian Army - he invested a great deal of his own money towards the project). I am selling these prints on his behalf to assist in recovery of some of the funds he invested. The series in not "dead in the water" and will be completed at some point in the future. My In Law and Robert Bailey (the artist) are good friends, and I am friends with both.
The artist Robert Bailey is a officially licensed Star Wars, Disney, Pixel, and Marvel artist. Prior to his association with George Lucas (and Co) he was and is still well know for his military and aviation artwork. His art always appreciates over time. If you do a search on eBay "Robert Bailey" you can easily see the price his original artwork fetches.
The print depicts members of the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion jumping on 5/6 June 1944. The print is beautifully created on heavy paper with vivid colors and detail (my pictures do not do this print justice). The print measures total size 32-1/2" wide x 23-3/4" tall. The picture portion of the print is 27-1/2" wide. Each print is signed in person by the artist. Prints are a limited edition - which means they will never be produced again. In addition to the history and concept behind these prints they make a exciting and beautiful piece of art on any military enthusiasts wall. This prints retailed for $99 to $129 each - I am selling well below his cost.
Each buy it now is for one print as pictured and shown. Print will be mailed rolled up safely in cardboard material (tubes or single wall corrugated cardboard - multiple rolled). Package size will be 7" rolled sized, print will need to be laid flat turn uncurl it. Buy one or 6+ the shipping cost will not increase.
