The card reader allows you to use SD cards for storage. Giving the VS recorder 4X the recording time of the original hard drive. Its also silent and since there are now moving parts in the drive, it keeps heat down which will prolong the life of the unit.
This kit comes with everything you need to get a drive installed in a Roland VS-880 or VS-1680.
This is also a great option if your unit is missing the hard drive adapter HDP-88 DLE.
VS-880 Series Recommended 16GB SD card. VS-880 will utilize 16GB MAX
VS-1680 Series Recommended 64GB SD card. VS-1680 will utilize 64GB MAX
You can use larger cards but these are the max sizes the VS will recognize.
