Rear Speaker Upgrade kit for Porsche 996 Models
The standard Porsche 996 models made between 1997 and July 2004 were fitted with poor quality Nokia speakers with paper cones and very small magnets, causing a weak distorted sound on all versions and options other than the Bose special option.
Upgrade should be simple. But Porsche/Nokia designed the speaker grills so that they could not be easily upgraded in an attempt to force customers to buy the very expensive Bose sound system upgrade.
With this kit, upgrading the speakers is easy and the improvements instantly noticeable.
This kit includes everything you need to retain your original rear speaker grills without modification to the grills, wiring or the trim, and fit Alpine SPG speakers with 180 Watts peak (45 Watts RMS) two way speakers (included in the kit)
This version of the kit has been available since 2007 with hundreds of units sold by us alone without issue.
The kit is so easy to install, you can literally (and many have) install it in your lunch break and still have time to eat a sandwich and drink a coffee afterwards while listening to your newly improved sound system! Nothing else is needed.
Unfortunately, this is not suitable for "Bose" sound system equipped cars, if you are unsure if you have Bose, all Bose sound system equipped cars have a very obvious "Bose" logo on the door speaker grills. This kit works with all the other audio systems used in the 996, including options mentioning "Hi-Fi", "Sound System", "Harmann" or "Nokia".
