DELE
Dele is a Navajo artist focused widely rather than solely on Native themes.
This original is signed by name and with the traditional Thunderbird
symbol of strength and power.

Although painted in traditional "Cowboy" or Western style,
the scene is more likely on the Reservation than on a cowboy's ranch.
"Cowboy style" refers to the painting style created by cowboys
out on the range who painted cowboy scenes to pass time at night.
They outlined their figures before painting them
and used a range of colors that were almost pastel at times.

When I acquired this work at a Southwest charity auction,
it had a very ornate classical-type frame that was inappropriate
for this rustic scene. Ironically, due to the frame's weight and
poor packaging, it arrived to me with a mostly
broken frame, good only for firewood.

The linen-on-wood part of the frame is intact and very strong.
The original painting is on canvas board and suffered absolutely no damage.
I recommend adding no more frame to this but recovering the stained linen.
That would be enough of a frame for this rustic scene.
Or, easily remove the linen and stain the under-wood
to match the fence or the barn.
Or stain it over the linen for a more rustic look.

Given the buyer's potential involvement in framing, I am offering this
original Dele framed but with possible reframing.
for an ebay special price of $199 or Best Offer.
