"DIZZY, DUKE, THE COUNT AND ME: The Story of the Monterey Jazz Festival" by Jimmy Lyons and Ira Kamin Monterey, published by San Francisco in the California Living series, San Francisco, in 1978 - first edition. Large format indexed and illustrated paperback.

This is a very detailed book with a single subject - The Monterey Jazz Festival. It describes the event, year-by-year, from its start in 1958 up to the year before the publication of the book, 1977. There is a listing of all the artists that appeared in each year, illustrated with stylish black and white photographs. There are seven articles by Elliot Horne, Ralph J Gleason, Leonard Feather, Grover Sales, Richard Hadlock, Philip Elwood and John L Wasserman (previously published in various San Franciscan newspapers) writing of their own experiences of the festival.
