Here are two Vintage 1940's Valentine Day Cards
that were sent to my aunt when in the Army
Nurses Corp. in the early 1940's.
The first one is a four-fold type, very good condition,
vibrant colors. Measures 4-3/8" x 5-1/4"
Printed on back at bottom: 5.4014 U.S.A.
Couple sitting on sofa, Suitor says:
I'm so shy & tongue-tied, I don't know what to do . . .
(on inside, as the bird flys out of the cookoo clock)
That's what I'm trying to say - I'm "COOKOO" over YOU.
Written in pen on back.
The next one is Mechanical (top of body moves).
Cute young girl with a blonde braid picks up a bottle
of Grade A milk & moves it between a shelf & the floor.
Printed words: VALENTINE! You're "GRADE A" with me!
Card signed on back. Card is slightly curved at bottom
& there is a discoloration line at bottom back. The side tabs
were never folded or creased to stand.
On the left bottom it says: A-MERI-CARD  O-6591/4
Measures 4-1/2" x 6-1/2"
Both from a smoke-free & pet-free home.
Thanks for looking & check out my other items, also!!
