These seeds are collected from Aristolochia indica, also known as Birthwort, Snakeroot, and Sunanda. This is a rare and endangered vine. All Aristolochia species, except for the Aristolochia gigantea, are larval host plants for the Pipevine Swallowtail, Polydamas Swallowtail, and Mylotes Cattleheart butterflies. This plant in particular is a larval host plant for the southern birdwing and common birdwing, as well as crimson and common rose butterflies. USDA Hardiness Zones 9 to 11.
