ISSN 0028-7369

New York Magazine, with over 52 years of publication as a stand alone magazine (weekly 1968 through 2013, and bi-weekly since 2014).  Launched as a Sunday supplement in the New York Herald Tribune in the early 60's, then as a standalone weekly commencing on April 8, 1968 under the direction of Clay Felker and Milton Glaser.  Other founding key talent included Tom Wolfe, Gloria Steinem and Jimmy Breslin. Albeit for a short time, Kurt Anderson was briefly an impactful editor-in-chief.  And Adam Moss was the longest running and most awarded and arguably the most impactful editor-in-chief of the title since Clay Felker, its first.

One highlight of this issue is The Ruling Class 1995  18 New Yorkers photographed by Christian Witkin.
There is also a small piece on the then Real Estate Developer, Donald Trump on the occasion of him hiring the son of the late Ben Bradlee with an ironic note about Trump and the media.

Christian Witkin (born October 15, 1966 in Manchester, England) is a New York based fashion and portrait photographer. He is well known for capturing revealing moments of celebrities - including President Barack Obama,  Meredith Vieira,  Steve Jobs,  Lil' Kim,  Quentin Tarantino,  Foxy Brown, and Christopher Hitchens - as well as for his extensive campaigns for Gap Inc., Vanity Fair,  and People.  His work is described as "iconic, beautiful portraiture defined by a refined yet approachable point of view."

Witkin is the son of the award-winning American figurative painter and art professor Jerome Witkin and the nephew of the American photographer Joel-Peter Witkin.
