Replica US WW2 Officer Branch of Service Nurse Collar Badge with Brown Letter N

Officer Branch of Service for the American Army Nurse Corps (ANC), this is a variation in that the letter N is a brown colour instead of the black colour.

US Nurse Officers collar badges.

These are worn in pairs on the Officers Class A dress uniform tunic collars, ETO Ike jacket tunic collars or on the HBT and Summer Service (chino) shirt. If worn on the shirt only one is worn on the left collar and a rank badge is worn on the right collar.

In the 1920's the letter N was white which was to match the white nurse uniform, then the Army regulations changed the colour of the letter N to bronze.

By the time the US Army entered world war two the Army regulations had changed the colour to a dark brown but the manufacturers made them in various shades of brown or black in colour.

So during WW2 the Army Nurse can be seen wearing various colours of the letter N on their uniforms, most wore what they where issued, some private purchased badges from the PX or other shops. A lot seem to wear Nurse collar badges with the Black letter N or the Brown letter N and some acquired or privately purchased collar badges with a white letter N for the white nurse dress.

The set of Nurse collar badges we have for sale here have a brown letter N.

Price is for a pair (2) of officer collar branch of service for the Army Nurse Corps.
