Description
A Pair of Antique Victorian Solid Brass Gryphon Candlesticks .
19th C.
A good quality pair of Victorian solid brass candlesticks well modelled as Gryphons and dating from the mid to late 19th C.
These heavy candlesticks are well detailed showing a pair of mythical gryphons with outstretched wings whilst resting back on their curled tails. Each gryphon holds a large brass ball in their mouths with conical arm that supports the candle sconce and drip tray. The drip tray and sconce is secured by the original steel threading.
Dimensions: The whole assembly stands approximately 18cm tall. The gryphons foot span is 12cm and the overall length of the candlesticks is approximately 23cm.
Weight: A heavy pair at 1791g's.
Condition: In good used antique condition. The brass is clean with a nice gleam. There are very minor age related deposits to deep rebates. There are minor surface marks relating to use and oxidation/tarnish. The steel threadings have been cleaned of past rust deposits and lightly greased to make dismantling the drip tray and sconce an easy process. We encourage potential buyers to make use of the 24 images to satisfy themselves of condition and encourage any enquiries.
A good quality pair of Victorian solid brass candlesticks that display well and remain fully functional.
We actively encourage buyers to review the images that do constitute part of the description. As with many vintage/antique items the candlesticks do have minor surface deposits from past use and age.
