Front of Zippo is engraved with -

VIETNAM

71-72

Then under the above engravings is -

An image of a circular shield, over which is engraved the words -

“WAR”

The Back of the lighter is -

Scratched back to brass colour

And stamped -

MUA HE

I think it’s made from two different lighters. The top says 71 but the bottom date stamp is 1958. Could be one piece but engraved with the 71 later I suppose?

Seems to me this is an older lighter and has been scraped back and re stamped over the original markings? Seems to be another marking (possibly a shield underneath the current?) Over which it’s stamped WAR. The back is also scrapped back to brass and re engraved over some markings?

This is an original engraved Vietnam Zippo lighter from 1960’s - 1975 Vietnam war era. Bought by myself in Vietnam.

The lighter case is in a used condition with some signs of wear.

As the product is an old item, there are scratches and stains from age. Please see the picture for the details or ask me before your purchase.

I can send the lighter with the original insert inside Australia but international post the original insert has to be disassembled and it sometimes is still returned as they deem it as dangerous as it has been used so

For safety reasons and shipping rules, I will ship with the oil removed and disassemble the lighter. (case, inside unit, spring and flint) It’s better anyways as it’s original.

You will need to re-assemble by yourself. It’s easy - if you’re not sure please ask me how.

Overall a very rare and collectible original Vietnam zippo with lots of historical and social significance.
