DESCRIPTION:
Caribbean Blue Calcite is a very new combination mineral that was recently found in 2019 in Pakistan. It's a combination of a very light ocean blue Calcite and light brown and white Aragonite.  This listing is for a gorgeous and unique hand carved polished sphere made out of this new and exciting mineral. This amazing dreamy sphere looks just like a mini planet with all its subtle pastel blues and browns. The stone’s colour immediately grasps your attention in addition to the tiny crevices and nodules within its structure (some of these can even have a tiny, druzy coating within). Caribbean Blue Calcite is a one time find and our guess is that it will be mined to extinction within a few years.

Our tropical-looking Caribbean Calcite comes directly from a small, family-owned business in Pakistan. There are different qualities of Caribbean Calcite and we have been careful to select the very finest quality with superior brown Aragonite and Blue Calcite banding / gradation which is termed 'beach' with regard to this mineral. We have photographed a 1cm x 1cm yellow cube along with this fabulous sphere just so you can get an impression of how large it is.

A LITTLE MORE INFORMATION ON CALCITE vs ARAGONITE:
You may think of carbon as an element that on Earth is found mainly in living things (that is, in organic matter) or in the atmosphere as carbon dioxide. Both of those geochemical reservoirs are important, of course, but the vast majority of carbon is locked up in carbonate minerals. These are led by calcium carbonate, which takes two mineral forms named calcite and aragonite.

Aragonite and calcite have the same chemical formula, CaCO3, but their atoms are stacked in different configurations. That is, they are polymorphs. (Another example is the trio of kyanite, andalusite, and sillimanite.) Aragonite has an orthorhombic structure and calcite a trigonal structure. Our gallery of carbonate minerals covers the basics of both minerals from the rockhound's viewpoint: how to identify them, where they're found, some of their peculiarities.

Calcite is more stable in general than aragonite, although as temperatures and pressures change one of the two minerals may convert to the other. At surface conditions, aragonite spontaneously turns into calcite over geologic time, but at higher pressures aragonite, the denser of the two, is the preferred structure. High temperatures work in calcite's favour. At surface pressure, aragonite can't endure temperatures above around 400°C for long.

METAPHYSICAL AND HEALING PROPERTIES OF CALCITE / ARAGONITE:
Calcite and aragonite work to clear and activate all of the chakras, improving the flow of energy throughout the subtle bodies. Meditation with Calcite can help to improve one's perception of the physical world and of the self, creating a shift in those who experience predominantly negative emotions. One can use Calcite to clear away negative energy, and to amplify positive energy, and specifically, to help remove fear-based emotions, bringing more optimism into one's experience.

Calcite is helpful for those in need of clarity, and those who are learning about Law of Attraction and manifestation. Like Clear Quartz, Calcite can amplify intent, and can be programmed for a specific purpose. Calcite can help one to see past errors and ways to correct them for benefit in the future. By clearing away stagnant energy blockages, Calcite can bring higher energies into the chakras, encouraging spiritual development.

We only sell the finest minerals, crystals & fossils. Please remember this when comparing
our specimens with others.

Please also check the sizes of competitors' specimens. Many photograph their specimens
to appear much larger than they actually are, resulting in disappointment. We usually include
a 1cm cube in at least one of the photographs to give a sense of scale.

All our minerals, crystals & fossils are ethically sourced and are 100% natural specimens
just as they come out of the ground.

We NEVER sell altered, embellished, dyed or artificially
enhanced specimens, such as screaming fluorescent agates, 'day glow' dyed amethysts
or 'aura' vapour coated crystals.
