Cartographer / Mapmaker: Sebastian Munster (1488-1552)
Sebastian worked as a lecturer at the University of the Franciscan Order in Tübingen, where he studied astrology to the famous astronomer Johannes Stöffler. in addition to his main work, the Cosmographia, Sebastian Munster wrote some very extensive work in the field of Hebrew studies, natural science, geography, and theology.

The map is an antique woodblock print, hand colored from Sebastian Munsters Cosmographia, one of the most successful and popular books of the 16th century.
