This wonderful rainbow kite is worn as a brooch. 
It was designed and made by Dorothy Bauer designs in 1998.

The kite is constructed and soldered by hand and set with Swarovski Austrian crystal.  The rainbow colors are 18pp chatons in Siam red, light Siam red, peridot and sapphire blue.  The center is set with a 16mm x 4mm navette.

The tail is fixed to the bottom of the kite and is loose to move as the kite moves.  It is a row of 11pp clear crystal chatons with 18pp light Siam red ties.

The piece is 1" wide and 2" high.  The tail is 1 1/2" long.

The  "BAUER" copyright tag is soldered to the back. 

The finish is 23k gold electroplating.
