A unique annual, native to south-eastern and south-central United States, growing to around 2-3 ft in height with beautifulMexican hat-shaped’ flowers sit atop oblong to ovate, stem-clasping leaves from late summer to early autumn.

The charming, solitary, drooping flowers borne from July to October, are composed of deep yellow ray florets, often bearing orange, red or purple bases, which surround large dark-brown central disks.  Magnificent plants for flower borders, wildflower gardens, prairie-style meadows, cottage-style gardens.
