Start (or continue) your 2024 fitness journey with this pull up bar which can be installed inside or out! Stay active and fit with the added convenience of not having to leave your home to exercise.

Train the following:

  • Pull ups
  • Chin ups
  • Muscle ups
  • Front levers
  • Back Levers
  • Knee & Leg Raises
  • & More

The bar is 33.7m thick which is the perfect thickness, not too thin and not too thick, and 1.5 metre in length, leaving plenty of room for working out and not feeling cramped. The bar is also galvanised to prevent rusting and is not powder coated so naturally the bar will feel grippy unlike majority of the pull up bars which aren't, due to being powder coated. Powder coated pull up bars look great however they are not practical when it comes to working out as the bar will feel slippery in the hands.

This is a listing for a Do-It-Yourself Garden Pull Up Bar Kit and consists of:

  • Galvanised Pull Up Bar (33.7mm, 1.5 metre)
  • 2 Wall Clamps, Complete With Grub Screws
  • Fitting Kit (50mm x 5mm Wood Screws & Wall Plugs, Pack Of 10)
  • Allen Key

The Build

The only two items left that you will require for the build are treated gate posts and postcrete (assuming that you have the required tools for the build). I recommend purchasing both locally due to weight and size of them as they are very expensive to ship.

I recommend using pyramid top treated gate posts, at least 5" x 5" (125mm x 125mm), I personally used 6" x 6" (150mm x 150mm) for extra rigidity. Height of the posts is your choice, just bare in mind that at least 1/4 of the post should be buried underground (a little more recommended) and you want to make sure that you can fully dead hang on the bar without touching the floor. I used 3 metre posts and buried 80cm underground. I've used 220kg postcrete for each post although I think I've gone over the top on this one, 100kg of postcrete for each post should be plenty. I've then dug out a little bit underneath the pull up bar for more clearance (see figure 1).

The included wall clamps have 4 fixing holes each which attach to the gate posts using included wood screws which secure the bar in place and a grub screw which is used to tighten the bar with the included allen key to stop the bar from rotating.

This pull up bar set up has been truly tested and I can honestly say it is very sturdy and allows for proper calisthenics/gymnastics training including muscle ups and more advanced movements. Put in a little work and have yourself the best pull up bar money can buy for years to come!
