This is the original (1sh) 1976 movie poster TAXI DRIVER.  It was used to promote the film in theatres when it was released by Columbia in 1976.   It is not a reprint nor a reproduction.  The movie stars Robert De Niro, Jodie Foster, Cybill Shepherd, Peter Boyle, Harvey Keitel, Leonard Harris, Albert Brooks, Diahnne Abbott, Frank Adu, Gino Ardito, Victor Argo, Garth Avery, Harry Cohn, Copper Cunningham, Brenda Dickson Weinberg, Nat Grant, Richard Higgs, Beau Kayser, Bob Maroff, Harry Northup, Martin Scorsese, and Joe Spinell.

This poster has been restored and is linen backed.  It is Rolled, and measures 40" x 60.   With linen, the poster measures 42" x 61.50".   Thus, this 40" x60" original movie poster is larger than its' companion One Sheet which only measures 27" x 41".  You may disagree, but this particular original with this stark and bold image of De Niro and the NYC night is so much more bold being an oversized 40" x 60". 

This restored movie poster is graded C8.5, Very Fine to Near Mint.   Original movie posters are graded, from the top down, as C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Very Good to Very Fine), C6 (Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), etc.  It is difficult to find any C10 (Mint) original movie posers pre 1985.  Prior to restoration this poster was graded a C6 Fine.  The restoration basically corrected one type of flaw, which were two tears; one from the top center border down to De Niro and the other up from the bottom border up to De Niro's boots.   But as we mentioned, restoration has superbly repaired and disguised these tears and the restoration actions on these tears is only barely visible under bright light and close inspection and viewed at an angle. 

Now, at any viewing distance, this original movie poster presents a beautiful, dramatic and eye catching image.
