4 page photo illustrated article from a rare Victorian periodical - the article is entitled "X Rays on the Battlefield" by F C Harrison.

Very informative article about the use of X-rays on bullet wounded soldiers on the battlefields of the Boer war-the article may have been focused on the wounded men of the battle of Colenso, illustrated with photos by Mr A Allerston at the Pietermaritzburg Military Hospital

Photographic illustrations include

The Military hospital

Bullets discovered by x rays and afterwards extracted

An actual scene - a wounded soldier under the x rays with Mr Allerston using the apparatus

Bullet in Fusiliers arm

Bullet in soldiers hand

Entry wound of a Mauser bullet

Bullet in British soldiers neck

Please note these are genuine actual pages extracted from a rare disbound publication, there are no covers and some articles may include the ending or beginning of other articles.

Whilst the images show the article in its still bound state, the article will be sent as loose pages. Some pages may be showing signs of foxing / browning due to the age of the paper
