Pairpoint Glass Cup Plate
1988 "Green Meadow"

The annual Limited Edition cup plate in the Green Briar Series , 1988, features The Green Meadow--a place of high adventure and narrow escapes for the animals of the Burgess stories.

This has the original Pairpoint Glass sticker with it in the box but is not stuck on the plate. It also comes with the original brochure.

Cup plates are small decorative art glass coaster size collectible plates. They were originally used in the early 1800's when fashion decreed tea cups without handles. Hot tea was poured into saucers to cool, while the cup was placed on a small plate to prevent damage to fine linens or table tops. Today cup plates may be used to hold the tea bag, butter pats or mints at the dinner table. They look so pretty displayed on a windowsill with the light shining through. They make great gifts and since they have been made for so long there are hundreds or patterns and themes to choose from.

Measurements: 3.5" in diameter

This is in Excellent used, vintage condition, see pictures. This is "NOS", new old stock, from a gift shop that closed long ago.

Cup plates will be shipped in vintage gift boxes which will be packed inside a mailing box for safe travels.
