This first edition copy is a collection of The Twinkle Tales,  a 1905 series by L. Frank Baum, published under the pen name Laura Bancroft. The six stories were issued in separate booklets by Baum's publisher Reilly & Britton, with illustrations by Maginel Wright Enright. In 1911, the six eight-chapter stories were collected as Twinkle and Chubbins: Their Astonishing Adventures in Nature-Fairyland. Lyman Frank Baum, is of course the author of one of the most popular books ever written in American children's literature, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.  Maginel Wright Enright Barney, a talented and successful illustrator, was also the sister of the American architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
