Note 1 - How an antenna assists

Your modem's connection is weaker, the further away it is from the transmission tower.
Connecting an external antenna will boost the signal that is available to your modem, resulting in a more robust internet connection.
This external antenna will give you a fast 5G internet connection beyond the otherwise available range.

Note 2 - Easy to install
Plug in the antenna.
Plug the external antenna in to your 5G modem device.
This antenna has a TS9 connector.
This antenna is compatible with the Telstra 5G Wi-Fi Pro ( ZTE MU500 ) modem, NetGear Nighthawk M5 ( MR5100 + MR5200 ) modem and a number of other 4G, 4GX and 5G ( CPE ) modems.
We also have similar anntennae with SMA connectors for different modems ( see our other listings or just ask us ).

Locate the antenna.
Locate the antenna as close as possible to an outside window.
Where possible, choose a window facing in the direction of your nearest Telecoms tower.
We INCLUDE details of your nearest Telecoms tower with your parcel ( if you choose to tell us where you will be using this antenna ).

Orient the antenna.
This antenna is a directional device.
Experiment a little, vary the orientation of the antenna, until you see the maximum number of bars ( of signal ) on your 5G modem.

You may not need any additional equipment.
However, if your 5G modem is installed inside the building, it may not receive RF signals very well.
A well located antenna ( near a window ) will improve reception of RF signals, and you will have the flexibility to deploy your modem anywhere inside, where it is most convenient.

I am located on the fringe of a 5G coverage area.
Your 5G modem will sometimes function in 5G mode.
Other times it will fall back to ( slower ) 4G mode, because of your location and other factors like weather ( it is complicated ).
An antenna will improve your RF reception, and thus minimise fall back to 4G.
Your connection will be 5G more often and 4G less often.
The exact details will depend on your telephone company, their tower, your location, weather and nearby buildings.

I am NOT located in a current 5G coverage area, I am located in a 4G coverage area.
Telephone companies are deploying new 5G towers almost daily.
So a 5G set of equipment will function in 4G mode now ( automatically ) and will be able to use 5G when it is available to you.

Most Telephone companies have several bands of 4G service.
Sometimes referred to as 4G ( standard ) and 4GX ( faster ).
Using an antenna, you are more likely to enjoy the speed benefits of a 4GX connection, over a wider area.

Typically this applies in most cities, most regional cities & towns, and in many other areas too.

In regional, rural and remote areas, there may not even be 4G or 5G coverage ( yet ).
An antenna may give you better, but still slow, internet service.

This is not a WiFi antenna.
WiFi commonly uses 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands for communications.
This should not be confused with FIFTH Generation (5G) mobile broadband modem technology.
