Joseph Day Knap (1875 - 1962): An American born artist who was raised in New York. Although he was lame, Knap was an avid Duck Hunter, a subject of many of his works. Although he was self taught, and primarily in real estate as a profession, he carved out a second career as an artist. When the American Artists group acquired a series of his works, they began using the images of greeting cards that art still published today. His artworks have also been displayed in Grand Central Galleries and The Museum of Natural History, and were often auction off by Duck Unlimited to benefit their conservation efforts.
