Identify Operating Frequency
There are two types of remote controls based on operating frequency controlling circuit, one is the fixed frequency model, the other one is the adjustable frequency model. Fixed frequency model which usually used SAW resonators and has its operating frequency printed on the SAW component. Adjustable frequency model uses LC circuit, center frequency change is done using adjustable capacitor or adjustable inductor, and the operating frequency can be detected by spectrum or oscilloscope.
Fixed Frequency - Must be exactly same 433Mhz. or 433.92Mhz. If not don't buy it. If frequency is adjustable please use frequency counter to determine frequency.
Identify encoding type
There are two types of encoding fixed code and rolling code. Picture A remote controls with dip switches. Dip switches mean remote is fixed code. Picture B encoder IC. Compatible only with fixed code IC. Look to encoder IC compatibility list. Rolling code not compatible. Some rolling code IC chip exaples HCS101 / HCS200 / HCS201 / HCS300 / HCS301 / SMC918 series.

Programming instruction
Step - 1
Factory testing code deleting. Simultaneously press and hold button 1 and button 2 (top two buttons) until LED flashes fast. Release buttons 1 & 2. Factory code is now deleted. If all has been done correctly then after short pressing of any button LED light will not Flash.
Step - 2
Place the original remote control and copy remote control as close as possible together (back to back). Press and hold one button on your original remote and the button on copy remote control, which you wish to be programmed on at the same time for approximately 3 seconds. LED indicator then flashes fast, indicating that the button is successfully copied. Repeat the above clone step for other buttons you wish to copy.
