Offered are two original soapstone trade carvings, signed by artists.  The bookends (2 pieces) feature low relief carvings of fishermen in various landscape scenes, artist signature "DIMU" etched on the bottom, the signature of a German-Canadian artist named Dieter Muckenheim. His works are somewhat mysterious and quite sparse, and were created from the 1960s-90s. The sculpture (3 pieces) features a hunter and seal, artist mark "c 187 M. AYALIGAK" etched on side of the base, label adhered to base reads "canada - eskimo - art - esquimau."

Measures:  Bookends; 4.25 W x 2.75 D x 5.75 H inches each.  Sculpture; 5 W x 3 D x 3.75 H inches.
