The Romania 1,000 Lei banknote was issued by the National Bank of Romania in 1993. Featured on its obverse is a portrait of Mihai Eminescu. It also shows the BNR monogram, the coat of arms of Romania, masts and sails of ships. The reverse of the banknote depicts Manastirea Putna, a rosette, and the bank monogram. The banknote bears a solid security thread and a watermark that depicts Mihai Eminescu. The banknote is 167 x 77 mm in size and is in uncirculated condition.
