4" = 10mm X 100mm @ 50 grams.

All rods all come with a Drilled 4mm Hole at one end & plus a Stainless Steel cable lanyard / key ring 15cm (6") long. 

How to use:

Step 1: Scrape with any knife / hacksaw blade or steel to create a shower of sparks

Step 2: Aim sparks at a small pile of tinder (like paper, leaves, small twig, bark, cotton wool works GREAT etc)
Step 3: Ignite.

TOP TIPS = "BIGGER IS BETTER" - If you have not used before then opt for the largest rod you can affored. 

Please note like alot of ferro rods these flints come with a protective film over them. So when you start you dont get best performance until a few scraps have taken off the outer layer. This is when a broken hacksaw blade makes a really good striker. The more the rod is used the better it will work, practice with different tinders (best often is cotton wool balls  - its why tampons are often found in survival kits as tinder).
