Why Switch to Henna?

Chemical-based dyes which are widely available from various brands on supermarket shelves have a gradual damaging effect on your hair. They penetrate the hair fibres, causing split ends and dullness.

Henna works by coating your hair with a protective layer. The plant-based ingredients enrich with minerals and vitamins, leaving your hair flexible, glossy and healthier in the long term. It builds on top of your natural colour, giving each person a unique look and texture, accentuating your natural highlights.

It can be used over and over again, and can help reverse the damage caused by chemical dyes.

If you have used a chemical dye, wait at least 3 months before applying henna. Patch test is recommended.

Advice On Covering Grey Hairs 

This product is excellent for covering grey hairs however there are a few factors to consider. The result depends on the amount of pigmentation still present in the hair. Colours may be come out brighter or they may not take hold and show no result. In general, the best colour for covering grey hair is brown. When the henna powder is no longer sufficient, you may try the ready mixed Henne Color Henna Colouring Cream which performs better at covering grey hairs.

Composition: Plant complex made with neutral henna, cinchona, birch leaf, thyme and nettle. Perfume-free. Free from heavy metals and PPD-free, to respect scalp and hair fibre.

Contents: 100g sachet of powder and instructions leaflet (keep in a dry place once opened). 

Use with Henne Color Organic Colour Boosting Shampoo and Conditioner to nourish your hair and develop a longer lasting colour (meaning fewer dye applications). They are silicone-free and feature mild ingredients such as coconut oil.

Instructions for dye application: 

1. Empty packet into a container (use half if you have short hair)

2. Mix with hot water until it turns into a smooth paste. Adding hair conditioner is optional.

3. Apply mixture to clean and dry hair, and massage into scalp. Cover with a cap or warm towel. Avoid applying to skin (face, ears etc.)

4. Leave for 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on how deeply you want to colour your hair. For people with darker hair, it is recommended to leave for longer.

5. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and then with cold water to close the hair follicles.

This is a semi-permanent hair treatment so the item will wash out after few washes and needs to be re-applied. 

Black Henna Dye is very mild we recommend mixing it with brown henna or other dark colours. It will not cover grey/white hairs on first application and results vary according to hair type. Patch test and learn what mixture suits you best.
