This English-language translation by Jean Star Untermeyer preceded by a year the publication of the German edition. First edition. Octavo (9.25 x 6.25 in.);493pp.; black and orange cloth boards, in dust jacket. Moderate shelfwer and some light soiling to boards and spine ends. Light bumping to board corners and top corner of textblock. Mild toning to edges of textblock. In an unclipped ("$5.50") jacket with chips at spine corners and tips, weakening and wear along hinges, partial splitting to bottom 1/3 of front flap hinge, and general soiling and toning. A very good copy in a good (+) jacket, still reasonably presentable.
