Sister, I am afraid!
They are "at the bedside" of the patient, constantly evaluated - by patients, families, doctors. They arouse extreme emotions - from adoration, through disregard, to aggression. Young and old, educated and trained, enthusiastic and bitter. Too low paid. Overworked.
They ceased to be silent. They tell about themselves, about difficult working conditions, about sick relationships with superiors, about mutual conflicts.
From these stories, a portrait of the environment emerges that makes us fear. Because the stage of the compliant "sisters" is simply over. Nurses want to be treated like professionals by the system, if not… so much the worse for the system.
