The picturesque lacquer miniatures of the Russian Kholui school are known around the world. Kholuis caskets are created by masters manually, painted with thin squirrel tassels, using golden paint and paints created according to an old recipe.  The mineral dye is mixed with egg yolk, water and vinegar, getting bright, saturated colors.

Box Fire bird rectangular-oval shape made of papier-mâché. Painted black on the outside and red on the inside.

The picture Firebird was painted by a professional master Sergei Mukhin. In the picture, the master portrayed one of the most popular and favorite subjects, namely Ivan Tsarevich, who caught the heat of the firebird by the tail. This plot is very popular among the boxes of Russian lacquer miniatures because it symbolizes temperament. In the picture, Ivan Tsarevich is dressed in traditional clothes and is holding the tail of a bird sitting on a tree. The contours of the drawing elements are depicted in gold and paint, which makes the drawing more expressive. Around the painting and on the sides of the box, the master made a beautiful gold ornament with elements of silver, which completes the work.

Behind the box, the master left his signature, the name of the plot and the name of the painting style. The lid is attached to the bottom with a hinge and opens up.

At the final stage, the box is covered with varnish, which is leveled and polished until it shines with a mirror shine.

You can store various valuable and important things in the box, but even the box itself is valuable for art lovers, especially lacquer miniatures and collectors.
