Blade
1.The blade of the katana is handmade from Folded steel with Clay tempered and oil quenched different HRC grades(hardness) on the back and on the edge ,which provides exceptional strength and shock resistance with superior edge holding and cutting ability , at the same time, a beautiful real hamon line on the blade is also the result of the differential cooling of the blade (quenching and tempering).Entirely hand made. Entirely disassemblable.
Polish
2.To fully polish the blade that need to work up through at least 6-8 stones by Japanese method which made the surface of the blade like a mirror and sharpness .First comes the basic shaping, the refining of the basic shape and lastly the 'make-up' of the blade.
3.Each next stones constantly stacking unique aesthetic details and will remove the scratches of the previous stone.This traditional polishing process produces a blade with a keen edge, clean lines, and flat surface.
4.The tip of the blade is a Chu Kissaki (medium length) and the blade comes full tang and sharp that can be used to cut the straw mat and bamboo but should with good technique and right gesture with a single strike yet sharp enough to slice paper.
Tsuba
5.The tsuba(guard) is crafted in High quality brass Tsuba.The habaki (blade collar) is a one-piece brass construction.Two Seppas (spacer) secure the Tsuba.
Tsuka
6.For the tsuka(handle) the wood core is carved and fit to the tang of the blade which is covered in Genuine ray skin and tightly wrapped in the traditional cross over style ito (braid) helps protect tsuka from the oils and sweat from your hands during training.
7.The Fuchi (sleeve) and Kashira (buttcap) are of High quality brass Tsuba detailing and Menuki on each side as an ornament. The oxidization process will create an antique look.Two Mekugi (peg) secure the Tang of the sword.
Saya
8.Each saya is individually carved to match its blade, ensuring a proper fit. Once shaped buffalo horn koiguchi, kurikata and kojiri are precisely fit to the saya.The saya is hard wooden finished in a black lacquer with a cotton Sageo(cord) that tied around the Kurikata (knob)
(2) This Katana can be taken apart fully anytime for maintenance purposes, you can disassemble the sword from the handle by taking out two pegs.
