Fresh Seeds of Verbena bonariensis (Purple Top / Argentinian Vervain) – with full instructions for germination.

Native to South America, this highly desired species is often used within award winning garden designs with its spectacular and architectural, tall, branched flowers throughout summer and autumn.  A tall, deciduous perennial with erect, branching stems of pinnately lobed foliage, with numerous branched panicles of small, flattened heads of bright lavender-purple flowers. Frost hardy to - 10°C.

The beautiful flowers are exceptionally rich in pollen and nectar, therefore attracting bees, butterflies and moths, as well as providing an ample supply of seeds for birds (leave the seed heads to over-winter for birds, and they should also self-seed).

A holder of the The RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM), it makes a great addition to any flower border, especially prairie-style garden designs, amongst ornamental grasses, where it brilliantly adds an extra canopy to a planting schemes.
