New Blu-ray, Polish release

Jan Komasa's film is a universal story about love, courage and sacrifice, made on a grand scale, set during the Warsaw Uprising.

Stefan (Józef Pawłowski) and Biedronka (Zofia Wichłacz) met in the underground and fell in love at first sight. But they are not allowed to enjoy their first love for long. On August 1, 1944, he and his friends come under the command of the charismatic Kobra (Tomasz Schuchardt).

Stefan and Biedronka, as soldiers of one of the bravest units of the uprising, will go through a bloody battle trail, and their feelings will be put to the hardest test, in the face of the horror and cruelty of war, in the apocalyptic scenery of a burning city.
