Percival - Slava II: Songs of the East Slavs (CD) SIGNED by Percival !!!

The album "Slava II - Songs of the Eastern Slavs" is part of a triptych devoted to Slavic music. It was the first part of this triptych - "Slava - Songs of the South Slavs" that was included in the pre-order of "Equinoxes" and was awarded the Gold Record status with it. "Slava II" was, in turn, strongly inspired by the cooperation in the creation of music for the game "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt". The last album, to be released, will be about Western Slavs, which is why it will be the closest to Polish listeners.

"Slava II" presents a small fragment of a huge collection of songs from Eastern Slavs, i.e. Russians, Belarusians, Ukrainians and Lemkos. The pieces on this album are often rituals, old songs, dating back to pre-Christian times, but sometimes performed in a perverse way. The texts of these works usually have a symbolic meaning, which can be read while delving into the mythology and Slavic tradition. The team was assisted in the work on the album by Lada Cherkasova - a Russian expert on Slavic rituals and songs.

At the moment, when the album is finished, we are all witnessing a conflict in eastern Ukraine. When the band started working on "Slava II", it was still quiet there. It is possible that this album will contribute to a better understanding of the culture of our eastern neighbors, and thus also contribute to building harmony between the Slavs. If you separate religion and politics from culture, the Slavs differ little from each other - we share common roots and traditions that are definitely worth cherishing. This is clearly evidenced by the Slavic rites that were practiced both in the east and in Poland in a very similar way, traces of which can still be found today.

Culturally alien ideologies that appeared in the Slavic territories several hundred years ago did not manage to obliterate them, despite the fact that they led to the division of the Slavs and their separation from each other.
