NGC authenticated and graded MS 65 RD. Lustrous mint red fading to light steel brown on the highpoints with most of the mint color remaining visible. The notable marks are a small puff of slightly darker toning at the dentil tips below star 2, another nestled between star 6 and the coronet, and a very light rim nick over the A in STATES. EDS, die state a, with fine die lines from the dentils under star 13. An attractive cent, CC#1 in the Grellman census. Housed in an older style NGC holder, the only example of this variety graded RD by NGC.
