RUDY VALLEE - AUTOGRAPHED SIGNED CHECK 05/07/1946 CO-SIGNED BY: MARVIN MILLER - HFSID 83376

RUDY VALLÉE and MARVIN MILLER
Rudy Vallée signs a check to Marvin Miller for $118.60 on May 7, 1946.
Partly Printed Check signed: "Rudy Vallée", 8¼x3¼. Hollywood, California, 1946 May 7. Drawn on Vallée's "Drene Show" checking account, payable to Marvin Mill for $118.60. Endorsed on verso: "Marvin Miller/Marvin E. Mueller". From the mid-1920s to mid-1950s, RUDY VALLÉE enjoyed a successful career on radio, in movies, in Broadway musicals and with a solo nightclub act. The first singer to be called a "crooner", he was known for carrying a small megaphone. MARVIN MILLER (1913-1985), born Marvin Mueller, is best known for his role as Michael Anthony, secretary to John Beresford Tipton on TV's popular series, The Millionaire (1955-1960). Miller, who also appeared in the role on an episode of The Jack Benny Program (1958), had begun his career in radio, and his fine baritone voice would win two Grammy Awards (1965, 1966) for recordings of Dr. Seuss stories. Miller debuted in films in 1945 in Johnny Angel and Blood on the Sun, and his long list of feature film credits includes Dead Reckoning (1947), Forbidden Planet (1956), Sleeping Beauty (1959, voice), M*A*S*H (1970) and Swing Shift (1984). He also appeared in a number of made-for-TV movies and TV series, from Four Star Playhouse in 1952 to Wonder Woman in 1978, and voiced a number of animated characters on the small screen. Bank cancellation holes and stamps, not at signatures. Fine condition.
