Is Softdisc a menstrual cup?

No, Softdisc is actually a menstrual disc which sits in a completely different part of the body than a menstrual cup. Due to the placement of the menstrual disc at the base of the cervix, the vaginal canal is clear which means you don’t experience the discomfort, dryness and irritation that you may with a menstrual cup. Also, because there is nothing plugging up the vaginal canal, it means that you can actually have sex whilst wearing a Softdisc.

Is it safe?

Softdisc is FDA-cleared and safe to wear for 12 hours. It is non-toxic and menstrual discs are also the only internally worn product not linked to TSS.

Can I reuse Softdisc?

No, Softdisc is not reusable and should be changed every 12 hours.

Will Softdisc fit me?

Softdisc was designed to fit the majority of women, regardless of age. As every woman has a unique internal shape and size, there is a small chance that Softdisc may not work for you.

Does it leak?

Softdisc should not leak if inserted properly. Softdisc works by catching your blood as it comes out of your cervix. Menstrual fluid is collected (similar to a cup) rather than absorbed (like a tampon) reducing the likelihood of leaks. You may notice leaking when going to the bathroom, and know that this is normal. When you use the restroom, your muscles tend to “bear down” and can push Softdisc from behind the pubic bone. You can use a clean finger to check that the top of the rim is resting behind your pubic bone and you’re good to go.

How do I know if Softdisc is inserted properly?

You should not be able to feel Softdisc at all once inserted. If you can feel it, try pushing Softdisc farther back before tucking the rim behind your pubic bone.

Is it possible for Softdisc to get lost inside of me?

No, Softdisc cannot get lost inside of you.The cervical opening is far too narrow to allow an object to pass through. 1If you have trouble removing Softdisc, don’t panic. Try sitting on the toilet and bearing down with the pelvic muscles which will push Softdisc towards the vaginal canal. Once in the vaginal canal, you will be able to easily hook your finger around the edge and comfortably pull it out.

Can Softdisc cause cramping or discomfort?

No, Softdisc should not cause cramping or discomfort when placed properly. In fact, you shouldn’t be able to feel it at all. Unlike a tampon which is stiff and plugs the vaginal canal, Softdisc is flexible and moves with the contractions of your body, helping to ease or eliminate the pain of cramping. If you experience discomfort while wearing Softdisc, review the instructions and ensure you have placed Softdisc properly.

What is it made out of?

Softdisc is made of a medical-grade polymer blend that is designed for use inside the human body. It is FDA cleared, hypoallergenic, BPA & phthalate free and made without natural rubber latex or silicone.
