This tile was created by Mintons, a celebrated British firm that operated from 1793 into the mid-20th Century, producing a wide array of highly decorative Staffordshire pottery and floor tiles. Illustrated by John Moyr Smith (1839-1912), a Scottish historian, architect, and artist. An interesting and scarce piece of British artistic history.
