George Dick (1916 - 1978): An American born artist who spent his career between New Mexico and Wisconsin. He was a wildlife and Western painter and sculptor, sometimes painting in an Impressionist style. Often, he strove to subdue or eliminate the backgrounds of his work. After serving in World War Two, he studied at the University of New Mexico with Kenneth Adams and Randall Davey, and earned an MFA in 1950. He exhibited nationally, and is in Hassrick's Western Painting Today and Ainsworth's Cowboys in Art.
