This is a wonderful Old Dark Wood Carvers Stool from Waskuk Hills of the
Upper Sepik Region of Papua New Guinea. This stool resided in the men's
house and was used by the master carver to work and carve on, and was
carved out of a single piece of wood. Ceremonial stools were considered
very special and sacred and used for special spiritual carvings. This
stool has clan symbols and markings on the sides. Stools are all one of
a kind, because they are used and made by a special carver. This would
be a wonderful addition to your collection or home.
Shows age, a nice patina, has chips and nicks, but in good condition.
