Short Description of Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris):

Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) is closely related to wormwood, a stronger herb. Though mugwort contains many of the same compounds as wormwood, it isn't as bitter or as strong.

Instead, mugwort has long been valued for digestion and women's health. It has been used for thousands of years, particularly in traditional Chinese medicine and Native American medicine and spiritual ceremonies. The Greeks and Romans also valued mugwort, and it continued to be used to a certain extent throughout Europe.

Besides its health properties, mugwort was also used to make a certain type of beer (hence the name "mug" wort), for lucid dreams, and to ward off evil spirits.

Do Not confuse with Wormwood or Sweet Wormwood!

What does Mugwort tea taste like?

Pungent aroma and bitter taste. There is a distinct bitter bite to this tea. If more than the recommended amount is used to brew a tea, it causes an overwhelming pungent aroma and unpleasant flavor.

How to use/consume Dried Cut Mugwort?

Infusion/Tea Recipe 1:

1 teaspoon of the herb is poured with 200 ml. boiling water and after standing for 1/2 hour, strain. The infusion is drunk in 3-4 portions during the day.

(Add honey if desired for sweetness)

Infusion/Tea Recipe 2:

As cold infusion: 1 tsp. herb in 200ml of water for 2 hours. Drink 100 ml before lunch and dinner. A warm Infusions can also be made.

(For dosing, please use the following formula: 0.02 grams of the herb per kilogram of adult body weight!)

Recommended daily dosage:

NO more then 2 cups of tea/infusion per day (2x 100ml).
