Why No Box Top?:  NIKE displays shoe inventory in two different ways depending on the quantity of a particular style that remains.  When fully stocked a single shoe is displayed in front of a bin full of stacks of boxes of all sizes of that style.  When NIKE no longer has enough of a particular style to fill a bin, they rip the top off of the box and move it to the back wall of the store.  This way many shoes can be displayed at once.  Please see the last 2 images in this listing for examples of each type of display.
