New DVD, Polish release
Another collection from the series "Masterpieces of Polish Cinema, which the Kino Polska Television Publishing House gives to its viewers, is a box of Krzysztof Zanussi's films made in 1974-1984. The director, one of the precursors of the "cinema of moral anxiety", repeatedly awarded at international and national festivals, accompanies the characters characteristic of his work in his films, who are faced with a choice between values and the temptation to reject them. Bilans Kwartalny, Spirala and The Year of the Quiet Sun are three moving portraits of people lost and looking for compromises between their life credo and their desire for happiness, between the inevitability of fate and the will to live, between the need to share the experiences of others and insurmountable loneliness, between individual freedom and life practice which restricts this freedom voluntarily.
